Vitamins (mainly E, C and A), minerals and plant essences are also useful ingredients to try to find.
Often, a cosmetic company will give a proprietary name to some of its active ingredients. It's well worth it to examine their documentation to find out what they're really supposed to do. Put on your hype-detecting glasses, and keep a watchful eye for facts, real controlled trials and statistics.
Pictures of beautiful celebrities who vouch for their product do not count. If they did really try the product, they in all probability already had perfect skin before using it anyway.
